David Porzio, MD

Dr. Porzio serves as the Medical Director of Marque Medical, where he leads with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered urgent care. A board-certified physician specializing in cardiology, Dr. Porzio brings decades of clinical expertise and leadership to his role.

Born in Long Beach and raised in San Jose, CA, he earned his undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach and went on to attend medical school at the University of California, Irvine. He completed both his residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts before returning to Southern California to begin his medical career.

Before joining Marque in May 2013, Dr. Porzio ran a successful solo cardiology practice affiliated with Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. Throughout his career, he has remained dedicated to preventing cardiovascular disease and helping patients make sustainable, healthy lifestyle changes.

At Marque, Dr. Porzio is known not only for his clinical excellence but also for his mentorship and leadership. He plays a hands-on role in supporting and training medical providers, including new doctors and physician assistants, and is a regular speaker at medical conventions and educational events. He holds the prestigious FACC (Fellow of the American College of Cardiology) designation, recognizing his exceptional credentials, achievements, and contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Personal Summary

Dr. Porzio lives in Irvine with his three sons. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team, homebrewing craft beer, making quilts, and staying active through triathlon training.
