There are two types of tests available for COVID-19 screening: antibody and diagnostic. Diagnostic tests check samples from your respiratory system (such as swabs of the inside of the nose) to tell you if you currently have an infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Antibody blood tests, also called serologic tests, check your blood for antibodies that would show if you have had a previous infection. For more information about COVID-19 testing, please click here.

Marque Medical is offering both nasal diagnostic swabs tests and molecular antibody blood testing at all facilities for those patients wanting to know their current or past exposure to the COVID-19 virus. The two tests, when combined, provide the most accurate information available regarding the presence of acute infection and appropriate immune response by your body to the virus. The IgG antibody molecular test utilizes the Roche and Abbott equipment, which is highly accurate, especially within fourteen days after COVID-19 symptoms have subsided. The antibody test requires a blood draw sent to WestPac Labs, Quest Lab, or LabCorp.

Our process for COVID-19 antibody testing is as follows:

1. It’s recommended per the CDC and Marque Medical that you do BOTH a diagnostic nasal swab test (covered by insurance) and an antibody blood test (offered at a self-pay price) to get the most accurate information on your COVID-19 exposure. If you had a COVID-19 test within the past +/-14 days and it is negative, then you do not need to repeat that test if you are feeling symptom-free. To schedule a COVID-19 diagnostic test, please click the button below to schedule a Marque Virtual Doctor Visit, which is covered by insurance with no cost sharing. We will provide a medical consultation and a Marque clinician will prescribe a COVID-19 test. We will then direct you to a Marque testing clinic on a specific day and time. Diagnostic lab results are usually back within 1 – 3 days. If you are not experiencing any of the following symptoms, you can get an antibody blood test during the same visit as your diagnostic swab:

a. Temperature over 99 degrees Fahrenheit.

b. Cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or at least two of the following symptoms: chills, shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and loss of taste or smell.

2. If you recently had a COVID-19 nasal swab test and/or are not feeling any of the symptoms listed above, you can schedule an antibody blood test at any of our clinics. Antibody lab results are back within 2-3 days.

a. No prescription or office visit is necessary for the antibody test.

b. The blood test is offered at a self-pay price of $120 and will not be billed through insurance.

Remember: Please help protect yourself and our medical team. If you are not sure about your current condition, please schedule a Marque Virtual Doctor visit first, so we can review your symptoms before getting an antibody test. For the safety of our other patients and medical team, all patients will be screened at the clinic front door so we can help maintain a sanitized and safe environment.
